A New Marpole Community Centre Pop-Up Event

Help shape the future of your facility!

Monday February 12, 2018
Marpole Oakridge Community Centre
990 W 59th Avenue (at Oak St)

The Vancouver Park Board is planning to build a new Marpole Community Centre! The existing centre is a vital part of the Marpole neighbourhood. For more than 65 years, it has supported and strengthened the community by offering recreation through physical fitness, arts and social activities. However the current building at 59th and Oak no longer fully meets the needs of the neighbourhood’s growing population.

A survey, focus groups, public events and discussions with residents will help determine the kinds of activities and amenities that should be offered in a new community centre. They will also help the project team identify a preferred location, whether at the current site in Oak Park or another location in Marpole.

Compared to Vancouver as a whole, Marpole residents are more likely to be:

  • Seniors
  • Renters
  • Born outside Canada
  • Lower income

The following activities and classes are popular at the existing Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre. Share your priorities for spaces and activities at a new community centre in Marpole.
