A festive time in Marpole Village

The 2024 festive season in Marpole was memorable as much for its mild weather as for the joy and generosity experienced by our community.

The 19th annual Christmas in Marpole Village event saw singing entertainment from the Fandango Quartet, a jolly visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the awarding of prizes in the first ever merchant Christmas tree decoration contest.

The judging was competitive for the first ever merchant Christmas tree decoration contest. More than 30 trees were examined but only three can claim the top spots and garner some winnings!

Congratulations to runners up Nuestra Day Spa and Everwell Pharmacy. First place went to Sunflower Hair Salon for their outstanding gold-themed Christmas tree. Well done everyone!

Marpole Cares Charity Campaign

The Marpole BIA and Marpole Oakridge Family Place were delighted by the generosity displayed for this year’s Marpole Cares campaign.

Thanks to the generous support of businesses, individuals and the hard work of volunteers, more than $12,500 was raised to support 157 individuals with 60 hampers in all.

Marpole Cares is a grassroots charitable campaign, raising funds in support of local families and vulnerable seniors. This year marked the 14th anniversary of Marpole Cares.
