Love Your City Contest in Marpole

Published: January 14, 2026

It’s back! If you’re seeing love hearts everywhere in Vancouver, don’t worry. It’s part of a city-wide Love Your City campaign sponsored by 15 of the city’s BIAs (Business Improvement Areas), including Marpole.

From pink umbrellas to giant candy sweethearts to love signs and murals, these are just a few of the ways local business organizations are encouraging Vancouverites to explore local neighbourhoods this February.

While different business improvement associations (BIAs) usually do something for Valentine’s Day, this year 15 are joining forces for the ‘Love Your City‘ campaign. Starting February 1st, it’s all about showing love for our city neighbourhoods, outdoors.

In Marpole, there are FOUR spots to show your Love; the ‘Love All Your Neighbours’ mural at Granville Street and West 65th Ave; the I Heart Marpole installations at Granville and West 63rd Avenue and at 70th and Granville; and the giant pink and blue hearts in front of the Marpole Library. You’ll be able to spot these signs of love everywhere in Marpole.

It’s easy to play

Here’s how to play. This February we will be featuring neighborhoods/Business Improvement Areas (BIAS) in Vancouver on Instagram for you to rediscover.

Tell us your favourites places and spaces to visit in the area, then follow the instructions on each post for a chance to win the grand prize.

For additional entries, visit the neighbourhoods throughout the month to collect stamps. When you go, give yourself a stamp for what you did there. For example, you went and got coffee at Federal Store, give yourself the coffee stamp on the Mount Pleasant page! The next day you shopped at Melanie Auld Jewelry in Kits, give yourself a local shop stamp on the West 4th page, and so on!

But wait, how do you give yourself stamps?
