Vancouver heritage school in Marpole gets no date yet with demolition crew

A nearly century-old Vancouver school building will live to see 100 and more. David Lloyd George Elementary School in Marpole will remain open even after a replacement school has been built.

After its replacement is built, David Lloyd George elementary will serve students from other schools that will undergo seismic upgrades.

The replacement school is scheduled to open for students in school year 2021-2022.

In its 2018 list, Heritage Vancouver described David Lloyd George elementary as a “significant historical landmark in the Marpole community”.

An open house for the development of a new school is scheduled on February 12 at the school gym from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
